Iman Ismail
Iman has over 34 years’ experience in the financial services industry in Egypt. She is currently working for Industrial Development as Chairman of their subsidiary Egylease (2016-todate). She is reorganizing this company into a leasing company along with hiring the key staff, preparing the main policies and establishing the governance and compliance framework.
She was the Wholesale Banking Head of ADIB Egypt (2013-2016). At ADIB Egypt, Iman managed a team of over 50 individuals involved in corporate banking, SME finance, cash and trade, and corporate finance.
She was previously the Managing Director of the Egyptian Mortgage Refinance Company (EMRC), the secondary mortgage facility of Egypt (2006-2013). At EMRC, Iman set up the company and implemented several capital increases and new shareholders entry. By the end of her tenure, EMRC had 27 shareholders comprising of banks, mortgage finance companies, the International Finance Corporation with the Central Bank of Egypt as the largest shareholder.
Following her graduation from the American University in Cairo in 1983 with a B.A. in Economics, Iman joined the Egyptian American Bank in the Corporate Banking Division. In 2001 she joined Citibank NA Egypt as a Vice President in the Corporate and Investment Bank.
Throughout her career Iman has maintained close relationships with the major corporate and financial institutions in Egypt.
She has also been actively involved with the Central Bank of Egypt and the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority, the regulators of the banks and non-banking financial services industry.
In addition to the above, Iman was an Independent Director on the Board of Egyptian Housing Finance Company, and an independent member of Nasser Social Bank Board Investment Committee. She was previously an Independent Director and Head of the Board Risk Committee of Barclays Bank Egypt. She is currently an Independent Director and Head of the Risk Committee of Industrial Development Bank.
